They’re also some of the most versatile toys on the market. And, right here in our own state of Minnesota, there are tons of places to take your ATV for a fun trip.

Don’t have a way to haul your ATV? No problem. You can always check out our inventory here to see what we have on the lot.

We know many of you are anxious to get out and start riding again, and we’re preparing you to do so with this list of the best ATV trails in Minnesota. Keep reading!

Appleton Area Recreational Park

What started as a gravel mine turned into a huge, 330-acre park with about 20 miles of trails for all levels of riders. With beginner trails and advanced rides, the motocross practice track. Rock climbs and a big water pit for rough riders, this park is always a destination for visitors and southwestern Minnesotans alike. The city of Appleton even allows for ATVs to travel on certain roads, so take her out for a spin through town – as long as it’s legal!

Spider Lake Trails

For something a bit more advanced, head out to Spider Lake in the Foot Hills State Forest close to Pine River. This 29-mile trail is unlike any other in the state because of its diverse and distinct track. Here, you’ll find all different kinds of trails – smooth, rough, sandy, rocky. Whatever your skill level is, there’s something at Spider Lake Trails for everyone. It’s also a great place to practice because of its differentiating trails.

Forest Riders Trail

If you’re wanting to camp out with your ATV, Forest Riders Trail has campsites you can stay at in the Paul Bunyan and Two Inlets state forests, or you can stay at one of the resorts or hotels. For more of a scenic trip, this trail is your best bet. For this tour, you’ll see a few of Minnesota’s remote forests: Two Inlets, Smoky Hills, Paul Bunyan, and White Earth. This 100-mile trail has something for everyone of all skill levels, beginning at an easy curving forest to a more challenging territory. The views are worth it here, regardless of how often you ride!

Soo Line North Trail

For many, this trail is the definitive ATV connector. The flat and easy 48-mile trail connects to the Rabey Line Trail, Blind Lake Connector and Loop, Hill City Trail, and Lawler Loops. The Line North trail begins in Remer and ends close to Cass Lake and is a great place for those wanting to do some wildlife observing, too. It follows an abandoned railroad grade, too!

Nemadji State Forest Trails

If you aren’t sure what you’re looking for in an ATV trail, stop here at one of Nemadji’s many trails. You have over 200 miles of trails to choose from, and right at 92,000 acres of land to explore. Most of the trails here are open to all types of ATVs, but some are reserved for Class 1 or off-road motorcycles. Lower parts of the forest are great spots for easy riding while the northern parts are full of sharp turns, narrow twists, and climbs. Either way, this state forest is one of Minnesota’s most diverse ATV trail ways.

Big Aspen Recreation Area

This recreation spot is a multi-use area that offers close to 21 miles of easy to moderate trails, which makes it a commonplace for beginners. Most of these trails consist of railroad grades and old forest roads that twist through a pinewood and hardwood forest. Not all ATVs and large toys are permitted here, so be sure to check that yours is qualified before you head out.

There are so many more trails out there to explore and mark off the list. These are just a few of our favorite ATV trails in and around Minnesota. And remember, if you have an ATV but no way to haul it, we have lots of options for ATV trailers on our lot for you. You can also contact us with any questions you have here.
